Rounded End Bench in Ash
Custom made solid Ash bench is made with rounded ends, underside and turned straight legs fixed into position with contrasting wedges. The curved ends and edges give the piece a simple and organic look, the soft edges makes it a very touchable and visually interesting piece that compliment any space.
This like all our pieces is made to order and each is unique in grain and texture. It is made from prime grade solid Ash timber the is planed, jointed and smoothed to a fine finish. The legs have been turned straight and fixed with a visible wedge tenon joint to provide a secure fixing and traditional look.
The benches are 34cm wide as standard but can be narrower r wider on request, the top is made from 25mm thick Ash and 32mm Ash legs which make it an extremely strong and durable piece of furniture. (Bench over 150cm are made with 32mm thick top and 35mm legs) . Each piece is finished in beewax but can also left raw, finished in varnish or something else on request.
The Timber:
Ash timber is tough and strong wood relative to its weight and has good stiffness and hardness. The Ash has a pale yellow, cream colour it can be streaked with browns and olives. The wood is generally straight-grained with a uniform texture with very to no few knots.
