Cedar Shingle Round Table

Completely unique handmade cedar shingle and reclaimed Oak side table. This a part of a selection of pieces designed to bring together natural materials and unique textures that wouldn't normally be seen in home furnishings. The side table is the first I have made, it has an exterior quality plywood core. The lower section has been clad in (Blue Label - No. 1 Grade) cedar shingles.
These are premium grade shingles and would normally be seen on roof tops and exterior cladding. They are rich in colour and have a natural warmth, they will also age and slowly change in colour to a silver grey (no finish applied).
The top is reclaimed European oak, hand planed and tapered on the underside to give a slim edge. It has been finished in a hard wax, to give a semi gloss finish and to bring out the oaks natural golden colour.
The table could be use all around the home including outside, I wouldn't recommend leaving the table exposed to the elements due to the oak top.
As with all our pieces it can be produced to custom size, timber or finish if requested.
